Should I Get a Traditional Wedding Cake?

Wedding cakes have always been a staple dessert for weddings. Today, you will see various dessert options available for weddings, from cupcakes to mini desserts to donut walls. How do you choose the best dessert option for your big day with so many options available now? Read below as we explore the different dessert options and the pros and cons of each.

Traditional Wedding Cake

The traditional wedding cake has been a staple dessert for weddings over the years. A conventional cake will offer a sweet treat for all your guests in varying flavors while signifying your love and commitment to one another.

Cupcakes

Can’t decide between 3 cake flavors? Cupcakes may be the way to go. You can create varying displays with the mini treats and offer a variety of flavors to guests.

Cookies

This cake alternative was trendy in 2019. It is common to have a monogram or symbol signifying your wedding as the cookie and can be wrapped in cellophane to act as a favor. Whether you make these yourself or you hire a baker, they are sure to be delicious!

Candy Bar

Guests will love being able to create their goodie bag of sweet treats at the end of the evening. This fun alternative allows you to show off your personality with some of your favorite must-have candies!

“Cheese” Cake

Not to be confused with cheesecake, a “cheese” cake is quite literally a cutting cake made of cheese wheels. While this dessert is a little more challenging to distribute, it makes for the perfect photo op for the dairy-obsessed couple!

Donuts

There are several ways to enjoy donuts at a wedding, including a fried donut machine, donut wall, and donut truck. Displaying them on a donut wall has become popular and provides not only a dramatic and colorful backdrop but an edible one!

S’mores Bar

If you have the perfect outdoor atmosphere at your venue, what better way to offer dessert than to include a build your own s’mores bar and fire pit? Guests will love gathering around for these gooey and delicious treats!

Mini Desserts

Some other favorites include mini desserts, ranging from macarons to pastries to individual pies with seasonal flavors. There is no wrong answer when it comes to dessert!

There are plenty of dessert options to choose from in addition to Traditional Wedding Cake, and there are no rules regarding which one you must select for your big day. Whichever you choose, we know it will be delicious!
