It’s true. And its a very important element to consider when selecting your wedding bar and wedding venue too.

What if you fall in love with a venue that doesn’t have the permitting for hard alcohol well guest what?! We have a solution. We know that having hard alcohol is very important and even a deal breaker for some couples when it comes to their weddings, but we encourage you to keep an open mind when it comes to the bar. For our venues that don’t allow hard alcohol we are thrilled to allow the use of a fermentation bar as a modern alternative.

Fermentation sounds strange…. what on earth does that mean anyway?

A fermentation bar is the use of un-distilled alcohols such as soju, sake or brandy. Bartenders are now able to create innovative, fun and unique cocktails using fermented alcohols and come up with suggestions to help personalize these for your wedding dayThese alternatives taste and look just like a typical cocktail would and we bet none of your wedding guests would be able to tell the difference!

You can make cocktails that taste just like a margarita or even a Moscow mule! (see below for recipes and inspiration)

Using the wine and champagne from your venue is another creative way to make different cocktails. You can easily make a Sangria, Bellini, Mimosa, a Champagne cocktail, or even a Kir Royale!

Having these alternatives ends up being a great way to make sure your guests don’t become too intoxicated and it still gives them options other than beer and wine. You can also consider having an after party at a bar close to your venue if you want to have hard alcohol after the wedding.

*Did you know that having an open bar at your wedding can add on average $20 per person?! This could impact your overall budget significantly. By choosing a few personalized fermented cocktails you will end up saving around $5-$10 per guest.
