Choosing a wedding venue is both exciting and exhausting. Knowing quickly when a venue is a “no” makes the experience so much easier and save a bunch of wasted time for both you and the venue hosts.
Does it feel like you?
As soon as you walk on the site, take a measure of how you’re both feeling. Is the look of the venue what you both like? Does the architectural style resonate with you? Can you imagine your friends and family enjoying the space? Even the parking lot can give you a clue to how a venue will meet your specific needs. Honor your initial response to each of the venues you’re visiting. If you weren’t excited when you first saw the venue, it’s not likely that you’ll change your mind.
Does it have what you need?
Ask questions on the site tour that will help you eliminate those venues that won’t meet your needs. Venues have different restrictions and some of those may help you get to no very quickly. Are you very interested in late hours? Is your guest count large? Are you planning on hosting a full bar or just beer and wine? Are you having a winter wedding? Each venue will have a different set of restrictions as well as amenities that will make your wedding day vision possible.
It’s okay to say “No”.
Knowing your expectations and getting to “No” quickly will save you both time and frustration!
